Dispo field

This field is currently being implemented, please check the instructions and put a discussion for anything that isn't clear. 

The Dispo field contains information about what happens to the patient at the end of their admission.

Collection Instruction

For each patient,

• enter the location that most closely matches

Alternatively,

• for patients who expire, one of
  • "Died - Organ Donor"
  • "Died - NOT Organ Donor"
• for patients who leave against medical advice, enter "Left AMA"
  • • I think it would be preferable to take out the word "Left" in the above entry for AMA. I think when we are typing in this option, we will just put AMA and this option will then immediately come up. --LKolesar 10:11, 2016 April 15 (CDT)

If you know the location exactly, you can type it. Otherwise press the "magic wand" button to take you to the S dispo chooser‎ to help filter options if desired.

Questions

ICU Accept time

• For the ICU we do not have an accept time so what do we do with this field? Lois
  • You do have an ICU accept time, just most of the time it's the same as the arrive time. I have added a button to just populate it. Ttenbergen 15:49, 2016 April 13 (CDT)

generic PCHs

• Unable to access Peguis PCH or any generic PCH, tried using magic wand but did not work.--CMarks 09:52, 2016 April 13 (CDT)

missing Var1/2 equivalents

• is dispo field replaces Discharge to and Var 2, why are there wards missing, example HSC RR6, HSC surgical wards?
• Not all the wards for St.B are listed ie. I send most of my patients to CR4 which is not on the list. Lois

missing USA?

• missing from list is ADMIT From or discharge USA. USA is not Other Continent
  • USA is on list and can be filtered as out of country; If you can still not see it please let me know how you are going about looking for it. If you can see it now, pls delete. Ttenbergen 15:35, 2016 April 13 (CDT)

missing other items from dispo list

• Do we need a Previous location from “Doctors office” or is home what we have to use? Some patients are sent to hosp from MDs office.Louise Lemoine April 18.16.

• Yesterday , I had a pt. discharged to a nursing home in Winnipeg. Unless I’m just not seeing it, we do not have:
  • Winnipeg/Manitoba PCH in the list. Can you advise please?-Elaine Nagy. 2016_Apr_13.

There is:

• Grace nursing home
• HSC nursing home
• all other provinces’ PCH,
• USA PCH, other continent PCH

why not combine fields at dispo?

• I know we are trying to combine Admit from, Var 1 and Hospital previous, so why not at discharge, if to other city or province, why not include specifically where if we know?

responsibility to fill in

• Who is responsible for filling in the dispo fields? If patient has been transferred around the site/s do we need to address all or just immediate prior? --Llemoine 12:45, 2016 March 23 (CDT)
  • I think this will need to be filled in properly everywhere. We would not necessarily link patient stays together if there is a question for records, we only do it if a whole stay is required. This is probably something we should tweak further and see what Julie thinks as well. - Ttenbergen 14:16, 2016 March 24 (CDT)

values not being accepted

• Some of drop down site locations aren't being accepted into field as error code pops up and declares too much text --Llemoine 12:45, 2016 March 23 (CDT)
