Thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR)

From CCMDB Wiki

Thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) is a minimally invasive alternative to major open surgery for the repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAAs) that results in reduced recovery times and potentially improved survival rates. It involves placement of a "stent graft" which reinforces the aneurysm from outside of it. A stent graft is a metal tube covered in fabric which is placed over the aneurysm. Thus as there is no excision or removal of native tissue, the CCI action here is Repair, not Excision with Reconstruction, Replacement.
