- Goodpasture syndrome (GPS) is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack the basement membrane in lungs and kidneys, leading to bleeding from the lungs and kidney failure.
- It was formally called Anti-glomerular basement disease (anti-GBM).
- It is a cutaneous small-vessel vasculitis (capillaritis).
- It, along with Wegener's granulomatosis are the two most common causes of a pulmonary-renal syndrome.
