This article describes how to automatically copy down CFE and the files it uses for viewing only. The file gets copied only and left on the server so collectors can send to it there.
Copying is an alternative to pulling that will allow reading/analysis of data without preventing collectors from sending.
Instructions / Steps to copy only
- copy Copy here only centralized data.vbs to an empty folder
- double click on Copy here only centralized data.vbs
- Prompts do you want to ...
- Answer Yes
- Wait for the program to copy the required files which takes approx. 5 minutes
- Prompts finished processing copy script
- click OK
Background
The data processor takes control of the data by "Pulling" Centralized data.mdb, and releases it back for sending or for others to access by "Pushing" Centralized data.mdb.
The current state of pushing/pulling can be seen in the Push/Pull log.
