Additional Info
Template:Discussion The following came straight from the old Tachyarrythmias article. Do they still make sense in the case of the new code?
For ICU
- Receiving Tx with at least one of
- defibrillation/cardioversion
- continuous antiarrythmics infusion
- bolus Tx does not qualify in Critical Care
For Medicine
(changed 1 Jun 09)
- new onset with:
- EKG/Rhythm strip showing tachyarrythmia
- and receiving drug or electronic treatment for the new onset
Alternate ICD10s to consider coding instead or in addition

Template:Discussion It seems like the rules above for afib coding are not followed now by all collectors. Please confirm as we move forward to ICD10 that we really still want the above rules. Thanks.GHall 08:34, 2018 January 30 (CST)
