The Admit Type for APACHE II is a way to classify patients' surgical status and one of the elements used to generate the APACHE score. The possible values are stored in S AP AdmitType.

Relevance

Patients with:

  • Chronic disease + emergent surgery or non operative (medical patient) = 5 points
  • Chronic disease + elective surgery = 2 points
  • No chronic disease = 0 points

Conversion from our old diagnosis schema to ICD10/CCI

Template:CCI CCI has no way to code the concept of "emergent" so we need to continue to collect this item as is.
