Cognos Report Integrator

This page is about how Cognos Reports will be integrated into CCMDB. This will likely be the replacement for EPR Reports Integrator. Feel free to comment now, but be aware it's a work in progress right now.

How will this work

Broadly, we will get electronic output early every morning that is similar to a combination of all the EPR reports we get. Tina will build something to get this data into CCMDB. In there, two functionalities will be added:

• a way to see new patients who have arrived, and to facilitate entering them
• a way to see movements of patients already on the laptop, and a way to facilitate entering them into Boarding Loc.

To start, both parts will work interactively with collectors picking and choosing, but the goal would be to get this process so both are updated automatically.

Getting data into CCMDB.accdb

This will be invisible to collectors and not take extra steps (Yay improvement from EPR Reports Integrator...) Possibly involving News and Backup or some process that CCMDB.accdb runs every time it starts, or possibly a manual pull.

Getting new pts into CCMDB.accdb from Cognos report

We will build code where there will be two buttons at the side of a list:

• one to enter pt from Cognos entirely
• one to copy pt from existing record (if they were already a pt) using usual pt copier functionality, and then to update the ADT info as per new Cognos record

I propose using the new Facilitated Management of Serial numbers for this, but have not had any feedback. Are people using this and finding it helpful? Please comment on that page.

Updating Boarding Loc from Cognos report

There will be a different window that will list the movements of pts from the Cognos report and facilitate entering them into CCMDB.accdb. We will need to decide if we want to keep the current "just enter home or other" process, or if it might be easier to go to a "enter as it says on report rather than figure it out" process. Open to suggestions.
