- Combined with the appropriate CCI component 1 codes - what organ was something done to, this can be used to code thrombolysis of any vascular or nonvascular blood clot.
- Examples:
- with (T) Coronary Arteries for MI
- with (T) Pulmonary Artery for PE
- with a cranial vessel code for ischemic stroke
- and many more
- with a body cavity code for hematoma clot lysis
- Includes use of any thrombolytic agent
- alteplase (Activase),
- streptokinase (Streptase),
- tissue plasminogen activator (TPA),
- tenecteplase (TNK-tPA)
- tetaplase (Retavase),
- urokinase (Abbokinase),
- Does not include clot stabilizer agents such as any sort of heparin, coumadin, aspirin or other NSAIDs, clopidogrel or any other anti-platelet agent.

- if an Acquired Procedure, enter the Px Date for each day that they happen
- if an Admit Procedure leave the date blank
