List of ICD10 Diagnoses we don't code

Might help resolve these: ICD10_Diagnosis_List.
Dxs Collectors have asked about
- Intrauterine death with chorioamnionitis. Could use Medical abortion, with complication and link it to bacterial infection NOS but this still does not deal with the intrauterine death as the problem. --LKolesar 10:11, 2018 April 20 (CDT)
- Is Missed abortion what you are looking for? }}
- meth/methamphetamine related dxs - I recently had this on one of my patients and I ended up using psychoactive substance NOS, chronic abuse/dependence/addiction. When I googled meth, it came up as a psychoactive drug.--LKolesar 11:52, 2018 February 13 (CST) }}
- list of pages that need to be updated to mention meth/methamphetamine if we want it coded so. Ttenbergen 19:12, 2018 April 10 (CDT)
answered, will be (or have been) added to the respective pages
- hypoalbuminemia as a medical sign? It is fairly common with differing etiologies and sometimes treated with HSA replacement on medical units. Pamela Piche 10:25, 2018 May 22 (CDT)
- AG REPLY --- now we do. it's Hypoalbuminemia, severe which we'll consider to be <=29 g/L
- Septic Emboli: no specific code even though it is a very significant problems with endocarditis patients which can cause widespread clotting to any blood vessels which causes strokes, ischemia to many organs, etc.
- AG REPLY -- the way to construct septic embolism/emboli is to COMBINE the applicable code from Category:Embolism + Infectious disease NOS
- Vasculitis: only options are Vasculitis limited to skin, NOS or Necrotizing vasculopathy/vasculitis, NOS
- AG REPLY -- "vasculitis" is not a disease. It's a category of diseases, and the items that ARE included in ICD10 cover all types, even though the specific disorders don't always include the word vasculitis. TT added: we made a category for them, under the cardiovascular category:
- Intra-abdominal abscess: only options are intestine, anus, liver, peritonitis. No pancreatic abscess (do have pancreatitis and pseudocyst).
- AG REPLY: there was an error, now fixed. Pancreatitis, acute NOS includes pancreatic abscess other than pseudocyst.
- Medication/therapy non-compliance...I see the need for some reflection of this issue in a diagnostic code as I have frequent admission/ re-admissions for non-compliance with medications and/or therapies especially dialysis.--Llemoine 14:31, 2018 February 22 (CST)
- For this, just use Medical noncompliance
Dxs that we have considered and decided not to code
- Muscle Spasm
- Mild cognitive impairment/decline
- There are options here, one could decide to use, as appropriate: Encephalopathy, NOS or Encephalopathy, septic or metabolic or Brain disorder, NOS. However, this is such a vague and variable term, that it's rarely appropriate to code it in the absence of a specific disorder/disease.
