Iatrogenic codes in ICD10

There are a number of different types of iatrogenic injury codes (listed below). It's important to become familiar with the options and choose the right one.

Some of these typically stand alone (e.g. Iatrogenic, air embolism, as complication of line/infusion/transfusion/injection).

For others of these, the iatrogenic code is a mechanism of injury, and one should also code the specific injury (e.g. for Iatrogenic, infection, following a procedure or surgery, NOS, combine it with the type of infection).
