Stuff to take to a location to set up a laptop:
* and the appropriate printer from [[Printer]]s - ask to set up local printer as per [[Printer]], for '''all users'''
* laptop
* need to ask Digital Health to make them since default rights don't allow making directories on C:\
* charger
** C:\ccmdb_data
* SD Card (will come from PDAs in most cases)
** C:\ccmdb_data\ccmdb_batches
* mouse
** C:\ccmdb_program
* glare screen (once we have one)

=== Portion with collector logged in ===
Would be good to include this in the image by eHealth
Collector or someone in OU DAT_REGION_ICU_DATA_COLLECTION needs to be logged in for this.
* in BIOS, to save power:
** disable wireless in non-wireless locations
** disable bluetooth
* set "My Documents" to local
* Install driver updates from HP
* Windows Update
* XP SP3
* Firefox (less buggy for wiki editing)
* add all local users as admins (must be plugged into network for this)
* set up printing

== CCMDB Prep ==
* run [[Regional Server]]\maintenance\[[Desktop_install.bat]]
* make sure the settings file is right
** CCDMB
* regional server shortcut
*** if it doesn't install [[CCMDB.accdb]] - follow [[Copying down a clean version of CCMDB.accdb]]
* with the user logged in:
**** which automates copying ccmdb_data.mdb from [[Regional Server]]\data\master to c:\ccmdb_data
** set Macro security settings to low (Access, Tools, Macro, Security)
** ccmdb_data
** set menus to always show all (Tools, Customize, Always show full menus)
*** restore the collector's data - ideally this will have been backed up and restored from the old laptop
* make sure the backup.bat etc. is copied over, set up, and working
**** if not, do a [[CCMDB data.mdb restore from Regional Server]]
*** if this is a brand new laptop that doesn't replace an old one, copy the newest version from [[Regional Server]]\data\master and rename it to get rid of the version portion of the name

== Convert ==
* [[News and Backup]]
* fix updater.bat to treat this file differently (only while laptop and PDA versions are different)
** ideally the file was recovered from the old laptop and restored
* sync into old .mdb
*** if the file wasn't recovered, see [[News_and_backup#Setting_up_the_file_on_a_laptop]]
* import into c:\ccmdb_data\ccmdb.mdb; there is VBA code there to facilitate this
* delete the old ccmdb.mdb from <regional server>\programs so it does not overwrite the new one when the [[batch updater]] is used.

== Retiring the PDA ==
== Testing ==
* do one last backup
* [[printer]]
* move the SD card to the laptop
* [[News and backup | test news and backup]]
* wipe PDA (press outside buttons at same time as stabbing recessed button on side)
