The Critical Care and Medicine Database has data collectors at all [[Site and Location table|sites]] where we operate.

Our collectors are all Critical Care trained nurses, allowing them to interpret the information they find from a medical point of view.

They work on the wards/units several times a week, generally while the patient is still admitted, allowing them to ask questions of ward/unit staff when the contents of the charts are not clear.

The clinical training and presence at the point of patient care help our collectors gather data that is of higher quality than what would be available from a purely administrative data set like the Discharge Abstract Data ([[DAD]]).
