When we eliminate a diagnosis or procedure from collection we need to accommodate any instances of it that are in our data.
Making sense of old data
Many of our diagnoses are part of CCMDB.accdb Data Integrity Checks or other checks, Indicators or Reports. If we have made sure to link to the diagnosis from any relevant documentation then we can find all related items by looking a the "What links here" link from the page for the diagnosis. All related items and their documentation need to be updated to reflect that a dx is no longer collected.
Wherever there is a link we need to consider whether the page needs to be edited (such as alternative dxs removed from other dx pages). Any edit needs to maintain information to be able to use existing data but also make sure that collection instructions for our collectors address future collection rather than the old use. One way to do this is to move content to a dated "log" heading at the end of the page.
CCMDB.accdb
Dxs in ICD10/CCI are active only if the current date is after the " active_start" and before the " active_end" in s_ICD10 table. So, adding a StopDate for the dx in the s_ICD10 table will make it no longer available for collection.
wiki
Edit the dx's page with "edit with form" and add the StopDate; this will automatically make the page show the legacy template. Make sure you still edit the page as per #Making sense of old data, since any users of the data would need to be able to make sense of the explanations behind the expande legacy template.
