Additional Info
- This code is for any kind of cardiac stress test -- it is not for cardiac monitoring at rest (i.e. without some type of physiologic stress)
- Regardless of whether the stress is induced by exercise or pharmacologic provocation
- Regardless of how the "measuring/evaluation" is done -- i.e. it includes standard ECG monitoring, echo monitoring, nuclear (e.g. MIBI) monitoring, other types of cardiac imaging monitoring, etc.
- When cardiac imaging (e.g. echo or MIBI) is done as part of a stress test, do NOT also code the imaging itself -- it's only resting cardiac imaging that should be coded alone
How to Code
- A cardiac stress test is a two part test, usually done over two days and sometimes up to 5 days in between. The first part is a rest test, code as Cardiac nuclear scan (e.g. MUGA)
the second is a stress test (exercise or pharmacologic) use Cardiac stress test
Collecting "CCI collect each" items
- "CCI collect each" items are entered each time they happen
- Px Date
- if an Acquired Procedure, enter the Px Date for each day that they happen
- if an Admit Procedure leave the date blank
- Px Count
- if they happen more than once on a day, enter the number of times for that day, otherwise enter a Px Count of 1
Px Date for patients who move
See Px Date#Moves
