Additional Info
- This code is for placement of any type of Central Venous Catheter, except Swan-Ganz (Pulmonary Artery Flotation) Catheter placement
- Including any location -- IJ, subclavian, femoral, brachial veins -- as long as the tip ends in a central (not peripheral) vein
- thus, a so-called midline PICC, that goes in the brachial vein and ends in the brachial vein is NOT a CVC
- Including any type: untunnelled, tunnelled (Hickman, Broviac, Grochong, Permacath), buried (e.g. Portacath), for hemodialysis (e.g. Vascath)
