| Each PDA has a combo of two ACCESS databases associated to it: a '''ccmdb.mdb''' file which is identical for all until synced into, and a [[settings.mdb]] which contains location specific information such as the path to the [[Regional Server]], and the hospital and ward names. Any data in the ccmdb.mdb is considered transient, the file can be replaced with an empty new version at any time. Rolling out new versions is done by batch and a file that is currently open will not be overwritten.

| Additionall'''Bold text'''y, this programs folder contains a \Master directory where the master version of the ccmdb.mdb is stored. Any changes required to the program can be made on this master file, and then rolled out by copying the master\[[updt_all.bat]] batch file to a local drive (batch code can’t cope with running from an unnamed drive) and running it.

| *ACCESS “(CCMDB)”. This article is pretty sparse at the moment. I would like each data collectors to collaborate in the development of this article. There are a number of questions in there to get things started, sort of a template. Basically what is needed is the “steps” followed to go through ACCESS (CCMDB.mdb) before data files are SEND to the regional server? Some of you may have some “good tips” that others can learn from so please add them to this articles. Any little detail from each collector will help this article grow into a useful guide. Don’t worry about how you put the information in this article or spelling etc. It can be reorganized as we go.

| | The [[CCMDB.accdb]] is using the same password everywhere. This used to be required to make sure the PDAs work. It is now required because collectors cover at different locations and using different passwords would get people to write them down. Since laptops are encrypted, and accessed using the user's network password, this should not be a problem. |
