This is the Index page for pages about the Overstay2 project.

Background

"Overstay" is our term for the time a patient spends in hospital after the date when they no longer need medical care. It is defined as

and

The term is related to the indicator Transfer Delay (Medicine). The Overstay2 project is a second iteration of the Overstay Predictor Project.

Data Collection and colour generation

Data collectors use the Project Overstay2 process to generate the Overstay2 colour.

Overstay2 Score and Colour generation in CCMDB documents how the Overstay2 module and more generate the Overstay2 colour.

Data processing and reporting

Overstay2 data processing and reporting in CFE explains the cross-checks and initial reporting capacity implemented in Overstay2 module in Centralized data front end.accdb.

Data and model

Our data collection and the healthcare system changed since the first iteration of the Overstay Predictor Project. So, our statistician conducted a re-analysis and generation of Overstay2 model, which involved a data definition for contributing factors for the Overstay2 project. In the process, we realized that the three acute care hospitals have very different patient profiles at this time, so we ended up with separate models:
