Using Cognos2 to keep track of patients: Difference between revisions

Some collectors sent me examples of unit records that should show up in ADT2 but don't, and where it turns out they don't show because they are on the exclusion list since the day they first showed up in Cognos. That finally clued me in; people enter a unit record, but with a different time. So, to get it off CUS, they exclude it, which excludes it from ADT2 as well, which isn’t a problem because it’s only excluded after it’s entered.

Then, eventually, the pt leaves the unit and the record shows up in CE. But when you open the patient's record, ADT doesn't list the entry. So you can neither have the convenience of entering the dispo dttm from there, nor exclude them from CE. Does that sound about right?

I think the answer might be to not exclude units from the unit listing in ADT2 at all, and only apply the exclusion to the CE and CUS. But I don't know what additional problems this would cause, because I am not at all sure how collectors are doing this. I had a look at this wiki page, but it doesn’t really explicitly address the whole use of different dates and times.

So, my questions are:

• would keeping the units listed in ADT2 cause problems with the process on the wiki (keeping in mind that it would also keep units listed where we really don't collect, or the swap/swing ones etc...)?

• could a collector or two please have a look at the wiki page to update it with how you do this now that we are routinely entering different dates?
